    Ukraine lays in Eastern European Time Zone (GMT+2) Hoverla is not a difficult mountain to climb. By far the most popular route is from the east - a 6 km climb one way from a trailhead at 1100 m above sea level (Zaroslyak mountain chalet). It costs a few hryvnias to enter the nature reserve at the end of the very bad gravel road from Vorokhta.

    There are two popular routes to Hoverla. Both of them start at the mountain settlement Zarosliak which you can reach by car or taxi from the village Vorokhta. From there, you can follow either the green or blue path. Both are similarly long and difficult.

    From the top of Hoverla, Mount Petros (2,020 m) is clearly visible, as well as the White Elephant Observatory on Mount Pip Ivan. The Maramures ridge rises to the southwest of Hoverla. It is the border of Ukraine and Romania. Most of the ascents to the top of Hoverla begin from the Zaroslyak base, which is located at an altitude of 1,100 m.
