Sesimbra is a municipality in the district of Setúbal, in Portugal. The original name was of Celtic origin, Cempsibriga, meaning high place (briga) of the Celtic tribe Cempsi. In the year 1165, the Moors were overrun by the Portuguese during the Reconquista by king Afonso Henriques with the help of Frank Crusaders.
