Early History of the Imam Reza Shrine
Even the original inner building was a Zoroastrian temple. Long after the conquest of Iran by Islam, the palace changes its name to Dar-ul-Imarah. Later on, in 809 the temple became the burial ground of Harun al-Rashid the Abbasid Caliph.
