      The name “Dangriga” is derived from the Garifuna phrase “Dangrigeu Grigeu” which is a translation for Standing Creek. Dangriga boasts a unique phenomenon as the only location in Belize where you can take a dip in the sea and rinse in the fresh water at the same location, locally called “Bar Mouth”.
