    Dnipropetrovsk Oblast ( Ukrainian: Дніпропетровська область, romanized : Dnipropetrovska oblast ), is an oblast (province) in simultaneously southern, eastern and central Ukraine, the most important industrial region of the country. It was created on February 27, 1932.
    By the end of the thirties the Dnipropetrovsk region became the most urbanised of Soviet Ukraine with more than 2,273,000 people living in the region and over half a million in the city proper.
