A line of thunderstorms is moving east across central Iowa this evening. Some of the stronger storms may have winds to 60 mph and hail. Take shelter if a warning is issued for your area. #iawx

Severe weather returns late this afternoon into the evening. Storms will develop over western Iowa and move eastward into central Iowa. Damaging winds, large hail, and locally heavy rainfall are possible. Although not likely, an isolated tornado is possible. #iawx

A few cells in eastern Iowa are capable of producing funnel clouds. These are usually brief and rarely become tornadoes, thought brief touch downs cannot be ruled out. If a tornado warning is issued please take cover. This is separate from the severe threat later today. #iawx

A few scattered showers and storms have developed across southern into southeastern Iowa. These will continue to move northward and pose a risk for lightning and brief heavy downpours. #iawx
