    Sepang International Circuit (SIC) was officially opened on March 9, 1999 by former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. Designed by world-renowned architect Hermann Tilke, the circuit itself is a tourist attraction, with its unique shape, layout and history.

    The track can be used in up two three configurations, the two shorter of which can be run simultaneously. The brainchild of then-Prime Minister Dr President Mahathir Mohamad, Sepang International Circuit formed a central part of plans to transform Malaysia into an industrialised nation.
