A fog bank along the oceanfront will advance northward this evening with widespread fog expected to reduce visibilities to less than a mile. Patchy dense fog is also an increasing possibility and a dense fog advisory may become necessary. Fog is increasing on Long Island.

GOES-R satellite showing thickening low clouds and fog south of Long Island going into early this afternoon. Marine dense fog advisory in effect for the ocean waters out 20 NM as well as LI South Shore Bays until 10AM Mon. The dense fog will reduce visibilities to 1 NM or less.
