STM32 is a family of 32-bit microcontroller integrated circuits by STMicroelectronics.
The STM32 series was launched by STMicroelectronics as a comprehensive range of ARM Cortex-M-based microcontrollers to address the growing demand for affordable, high-performance, and energy-efficient microcontrollers in the market.
STMicroelectronics is manufacturing the STM32 MCUs which are based on the Arm ® Cortex ® -M processor. They are 32-bit RISC Arm processor cores, optimized for cost and power sensitive MCUs.
STM32 does not refer to one specific microcontroller. It is the name STMicroelectronics gave to their ARM Cortex-M based microcontroller family.
  2. People also ask
STM32 is an ARM Cortex-M processor family designed by STMicroelectronics. It offers a wide range of advanced microcontrollers to meet the needs of low-power, cost-sensitive and high-performance applications. The STM32 family features 32-bit ARM Cortex M0 to M4 cores as well as powerful digital signal processing (DSP) capabilities.
The STM32 family currently consists of fifteen series. These series are grouped in four different groups: High Performance, Mainstream, Ultra Low Power, and Wireless. The following list briefly describes each series: Based on the Arm Cortex-M0 processor. Optimized for low cost. Designed to compete with 8-bit and 16-bit platforms.
It is part of our STM32 Education initiative, which groups training, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), videos, textbooks, and many more resources under one roof to help anyone gain the expertise in STM32 platforms and embedded systems, thus bringing experience and knowledge to the next generation of visionaries.
Connect the STM32 board to the computer via USB cable or other interface device. Once connected, you can begin programming your board by either uploading code directly to it, or writing code in an IDE and compiling it before sending it to the board. Program test your application.
