The population of Korsnäs is approximately 2,000, while the sub-region has a population of approximately 110,000. It is the 258th most populous municipality in Finland.

WEBIn Decenber 2022, Metsähallitus reached an agreement with Vattenfall for the development and construction of Finland’s first offshore wind project in the open sea area. The wind farm – with a planning maximum capacity of 2.5 GW and a potential annual production of 7 TWh – will be located at Korsnäs, on the west coast of the country.

Vattenfall, Metsähallitus to build Korsnäs offshore wind farm in Finland
WEBDec 21, 2022 · Swedish energy company Vattenfall has announced a joint venture (JV) with Finnish state-owned enterprise Metsähallitus to build and operate the 1.3GW Korsnäs offshore wind farm in Finland. The Finnish offshore wind farm is estimated to have an investment value of about €2bn to €3bn.
