Fredericksburg’s history date back to pre-Colonial times depicting slavery and war. The city is home to four battlefields and is claimed to be one of the most haunted places in the United States. The Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park is where bloody Civil War battles took place. The city contains several historic buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, museums, art galleries, generations-old peach orchards, and old-fashioned bakeries with unique German flavors.
