    Terminologically, the word Sunnah means what the Prophet Muhammad said, did, or conducted. Conduction is responding silently and not rejecting. Hadiths are the interpretations of the Quranic verses. They explain the divine secrets that are briefly given in the verses and decree on subject, which there is no mention of it in Quran.
    We know the Sunnah from the statements called Hadiths that have been handed down from the Companions of the Prophet. Islamic Law is taken from the Qur’an and Sunnah. The Sunnah in this sense both explains the Qur’an, and also gives additional rules and guidance.
    Therefore, the source of all the Sunnah is revelation. The Quran is the revelation that is formally recited as an act of worship, and the Sunnah is revelation that is not formally recited. The Sunnah, though, is just like the Quran in that it is revelation that must be followed and adhered to.
