Everything is incredibly cheap and the local food is terrific. Cool Soviet era architecture everywhere throughout Bishkek. And then the outdoors are probably the best feature of the country, from Ala Archa National Park about 30 minutes away from Bishkek to Issyk Kul lake which is really lively in the summer.
