Anyang, city, Gyeonggi do (province), northwestern South Korea, situated about 20 miles (30 km) southwest of Seoul. It was given the status of a municipality in 1973 and has become the largest industrial satellite of Seoul. Industries include brewing and the manufacture of textiles, pottery, paper, and bricks.
