It is known the world-over as the home of Robin Hood, and packed with stories, from the ancient oaks to the country's most famous outlaw, and the work of the RSPB and their partners.
Can you go to Sherwood Forest for free?
Parking is usually just £5 per day for non-members of the RSPB and free for members (there will be some advertised special event days when the charge is higher for all visitors, including members), and it's free admission to walk on to the reserve.
Is there much to do at Sherwood Forest?
Walking and hiking
Take easy strolls straight from your cabin in the Sherwood Pines Forest Park or explore the legend of Robin Hood in Sherwood Forest Country Park. Set out for a day's hike along the Robin Hood Way or enjoy the country views in Clumber Park.
The Visitor Centre is open from: 10am – 5pm from March to October. 10am – 4pm from November to 22nd March 2024.
