Once the horse trading and livestock center of the country, Miles City still has weekly livestock auctions and, once a year, puts on the Bucking Horse Sale for rodeo stock buyers and breeders. The Range Riders Museum features an extensive collection of western artifacts, including over 400 guns.

If you like a simple life and cheap place to live, MC may suit you. Miles City is a very close knit community. Everyone tries their best to include you and help you. Being a new person to the community is a nice experience because everyone makes you feel very welcome.

As a destination, Miles City offers the internationally renowned, annual Bucking Horse Sale as well as world-class hunting, fishing, sightseeing and an array of authentic western locations.

Explosions rocked both Miles City and Baker in eastern Montana on March 23, 1944. The Miles City blast was planned; the Baker explosion was most certainly not. In Miles City, a “Flying Fortress dropped demolition charges along five miles of the ice-choked Yellowstone River,” according to the Fallon County Times.
