Another day, another threat for severe weather... This time western North TX is under the gun later this afternoon into this evening. Folks along/north of I-20 and west of Hwy 75 need to be paying attention to the weather this evening. All modes of severe weather are possible.

2:26pm - The atmosphere is highly unstable with storms expected to develop in the shaded regions in the next few hours. A special sounding was released recently confirming the highly volatile environment over our area. Storms will be capable of giant hail up to 4" and tornadoes.

Both #DallasLove (DAL) and #DFW Airport experienced their highest May dewpoints today since 1997. DAL hit 79/DFW hit 78. Incredibly high humidity across north TX. Gainesville (GLE) is reporting 80F right now. Highest ever on record for May. Data only goes back to 2001. #txwx

Data only goes back to 1999, but, the 5 highest hourly Heat Index values at #Austin Bergstrom Apt (AUS) in May have all occurred in the past 2 days. 4 of them today, between 2-5pm. Values ranged from 110F-111F. With global warming, atmosphere contains more water vapor. #txwx
