Historical Overview Initially named Fedala, Mohammedia city emerged by the advert of Spanish, Genoese and Venetian merchants since the 14th century. It attained its golden age after the construction of a fortress by Sultan Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah in 1773, serving then as grain silo.
