Stevin John sold Blippi in a deal valued at $120 million to Moonbug Entertainment. Shortly after that Disney acquired Moonbug in an even bigger deal.

On 31 July 2020, Cocomelon and Blippi were purchased together for US$120 million. In February 2020, South Korean animated series Arpo: The Robot for All Kids created by Toonzip, which first aired on 2012 by MBC TV, was bought by Moonbug.

The show was created and the character originally played by Stevin John, who posted the first episode of the show on YouTube on February 18, 2014, which featured tractors. Aiming to keep Blippi going, John joined the multi-channel network Moonbug Entertainment in 2020, which became a subsidiary of Candle Media in 2021.
