John Madden Football is a football video game originally released for the Apple II, in 1988 following the success of Earl Weaver Baseball. It was later ported to MS-DOS and the Commodore 64. It was followed by the 1990 Sega Genesis video game of same name, and went on to become the yearly Madden NFL game series.

Madden 25 will be available worldwide on August 16, 2024. Early access begins on August 13, 2024, for those who purchase a special edition or the MVP Bundle for EA Sports College Football 25. EA Sports confirmed the release date in May when they released details for College Football 25.
