Tinos is famous for its many churches, but also for its dovecotes. One should definitely check the local artists and their dedicated museums, as Tinos is the birthplace of many well-known Greek sculptors and painters.

Tinos isn't a cheap island. It's not painfully expensive or anything, but for food, beer and accommodation we are paying prices pretty similar to back home in the UK, which for Greek islands is expensive.

Although Tinos is mostly famous as a religious destination for the Greeks, it certainly has all the characteristics of a Cycladic island: the traditional architecture, the lovely beaches, and the wild landscape.

Tinos, Syros and Symi represent a trifecta of Greek island grooviness: Tinos, because while very close to popular Mykonos it rocks a mellower vibe (and mellower prices) and beautiful landscapes; Syros on account of its captivating island capital of Ermoupoli, and far-flung Symi because of its history and exotic allure.
