In English I'd pronounce it as “walnut” except with a “v”-sound rather than a “w”-sound. If you're trying to emulate the Norse, then I'd soften the “v”, make sure the “a” is like the one in “start”, pronounce the “k” and make the “u” sound like “oo” and have it be long.
