Additional heavy rainfall of 1 to 3” will be possible this morning. This additional heavy rainfall will add to the already flooding risk across the area where this additional rainfall occurs across locations that received the earlier heavy rainfall.

[6:45 AM Sunday June 9] Several roads across the area are closed due to flooding (red and white circles, map via @MoDOT). At least 2-3 inches of rain has fallen for most over the last 12 hours with some seeing 6-7+ inches. Be alert this morning and Turn Around, Don't Drown!

Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall/flooding, 1.5 inch hail, and 60 mph winds, perhaps a tornado will be possible this evening into tonight. There is uncertainty in where the heaviest rain falls.

Heavy rainfall occur across portions of the Missouri Ozarks Saturday evening into early this morning resulting in several low water crossings already flooding across the area. Additional heavy rainfall will continue this morning adding to the ongoing flooding risk.

Cooler conditions will occur today through Tuesday as highs in the 70s occur. Highs will then warm into the 80s to near 90s late week into next weekend. Rain chances are low for this upcoming week across southeastern Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri until 1 AM CDT

Widespread 2-3 inches with localized pockets of 5-7 inches of rain this evening and tonight. This may lead to flash flooding. Think of safety. This is especially true for outdoor recreation like floating or camping.
