WEBNouvelle-Aquitaine, région of southwestern France created in 2016 by the union of the former régions of Aquitaine, Poitou-Charentes, and Limousin. It is the largest of France’s 13 metropolitan régions. It is bounded by the régions of Pays de la Loire to the north, Centre to the northeast, and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Occitanie to the east.
