Spotty light showers will continue in northeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa through this evening. Sunday and Monday should stay dry, with increasing chances for showers and storms overnight Monday into Tuesday.

11 PM: The severe storm threat has come to an end for southeast NE and far southwest IA. A few thunderstorms are lingering, but will continue to move off to the southeast. As these storms end, some areas can still expect a ~20 minute period of winds in the 40-50 mph range.

The threat of severe weather has come to an end for all locations north of a line from Columbus, NE to Omaha and Bellevue, NE to Red Oak, IA. Damaging wind gusts and 1" hail remain possible for areas south of there.

Afternoon light showers in northeast Nebraska will try to move into the Omaha and Lincoln area this evening, with an overall excellent day on tap. Sunday and Monday should stay dry, with increasing chances for showers and storms overnight Monday into Tuesday.

Severe weather is pushing into east central Nebraska with a current threat of 60 mph gusts and 1" hail. Expect these storms to continue working southeast through the evening. They're likely to remain just west of the Omaha metro.

.@LancasterCoEMA, round one wasn't so bad. There's a chance of a stronger storm arriving in the city around 7:50 pm. We'll be monitoring it for 1" hail and 60 mph gusts. Know where you'd seek shelter if planning on being outdoors.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Nebraska until 9 PM CDT

Storms travelling along a line may affect areas of eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa with repeated rounds of rain this evening. Most areas will see up to 1" of rainfall, but isolated amounts of 3 inches more are possible.

We still anticipate a threat of severe weather in the area tonight, though the entire system has potentially shifted west a county or two. While severe weather threat 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙩 for Omaha and southwest Iowa, that threat has slipped since this morning.
