Mecca, also known as Makkah is Arabic, is located in modern-day Saudi Arabia. It is the holiest city in the Islamic faith, and Muslims take a pilgrimage, or hajj, there at least once in their lifetime. The Masjid al-Haram is located in Mecca and is the mosque that holds the holiest Islamic structure, the Kaaba.
