    Cuba is a friendly, vibrant, and historic community located in Allegany County, New York. Cuba township lies on the western border of Allegany County, with the Village of Cuba contained within its borders. Cuba Village is located on I-86, the Southern Tier Expressway at Interchange 28 near NYS routes 305 and 446.
    Starting in the 1870s, Cuba was a notable cheese producing town in New York. Part of the reason for why Cuba was so important in the cheese trade was its location on railroads making access from New York City easy. In the early 20th century, Cuba was known as the "Cheese Capital of the World".
    Cuba, NY has a rich history in dairy and cheese production and as a major crossroad for transportation systems in the region. Points of interest located in Cuba include Cuba Lake, Cuba Cheese Shop, Seneca Oil Spring, Empire City Farms, Main Street and South Street Historic Districts, and the Genesee Valley Greenway.
    The village of Cuba was incorporated in 1850. The Cuba Cemetery, Main Street Historic District, and South Street Historic District are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Cuba is located at 42°13′06″N 78°16′31″W. The village is entirely within Allegany County, just east of the border with Cattaraugus County .
