The Kura-Araxes cultural tradition and its related societal structures originated at about 3500 BC and lasted until 2500 BC. Although archaeologists recognized its typical artifacts, which included a package of pottery style, housing, and ritual, more than 100 years ago, little was known outside its homeland region.
