Parchment paper (for cooking) is paper that's been coated with silicone. Silicone is waterproof, although the paper “inside” is not. So as long as the silicone coatings on the parchment paper don't get holes/cracks/etc, parchment paper will get limper when wet, but not dissolve or break up.
